The annual Mercer Accommodation Group’s Mad Hatter Day at the 2006 Galway Races was once again a great success! The last and most fun day of the Galway Races, Sunday 6th August will saw women, men, children, families and friends dress up in the most stylish, creative and even outrageous hats, all vying for a chance at winning some top prizes and just enjoy what is one of Ireland’s most popular sporting and social events.
TV presenter, Emma O’Driscoll and Miss World Winner Rosanna Davidson were both chosen to judge this year’s Mercer Accommodation Group Mad Hatter Day. Emma and Rosanna were on the look out for the most colourful, creative and fun hats. Sponsors of Mad Hatter Day, The Mercer Accommodation Group comprising The Fairgreen Hotel & Corrib Village Galway and the Tara Towers, The Mercer Hotel & The Mercer Court Dublin and the new Cork Airport Hotel, sponsored a variety of different categories for adults and children with fabulous prizes!
A huge turnout of wacky and wonderful creations meant the judges had their work cut out for them. Emma began by judging the Crazy Kid’s competition.

A luxury weekend for two in the newly refurbished Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin plus €1,500 cash to spend.

2nd Prize “Alice’s Idol”
Weekend break in the Mercer Hotel, Dubin plus €1,000 to spend in Dublin’s most exclusive shopping district. The Mercer Hotel is located right in the heart of the Dublin’s city centre next to Dublin’s most fashionable shopping districts, Grafton Street & St Stephen’s Green.
